How Invisalign Works

Invisalign uses a series of custom, clear aligner trays designed specifically for your teeth using digital 3D imaging. Each set of aligners is worn for roughly 22 hours each day for one to two weeks before being swapped for the next in the series, gradually and gently shifting teeth into their ideal positions. Throughout treatment, you’ll also attend regular check-in appointments so that Dr. Carlotto can be sure your teeth are moving as expected, and if needed, adjustments can be made to your plan to bring you to your final results.
Who Invisalign Can Help

Invisalign is a versatile treatment that can address a wide range of orthodontic concerns, from mild issues to more moderate cases. Because each aligner is custom-designed for your specific smile, treatment can be tailored to treat all kinds of situations, including:
Crowded Teeth

When there isn’t enough room in the jaw for teeth to fit normally, they can overlap, twist, or push against one another. Invisalign gradually creates spaces and guides crowded teeth into better alignment, making them easier to clean and reducing the risk of decay and gum issues.
Gaps Between Teeth

Noticeable spacing between teeth can happen for a variety of reasons, including missing teeth or a jaw that has more room than the teeth need. Invisalign can close these gaps by gently and gradually moving teeth closer together, resulting in a more uniform smile.
Misaligned Bite

Overbites, underbites, crossbites, and open bites can all affect how your teeth fit together, sometimes leading to discomfort, uneven wear, or even jaw strain, among other things like challenges when eating and speaking. Invisalign can correct many mild to moderate bite issues by carefully repositioning your teeth.
The Benefits of Invisalign Clear Aligners

Invisalign offers a modern alternative to traditional braces, and many adults and teens alike enjoy all kinds of unique benefits that other orthodontic solutions can’t match. These include:
- The clear aligners are subtle and discreet thanks to the clear, nearly-invisible plastic they’re made from.
- They can be taken out for eating, drinking, and oral hygiene, meaning no dietary restrictions or complicated hygiene routines.
- The smooth plastic trays are custom-made for the contours of your mouth, meaning they’re comfortable to wear.
- Invisalign treatment, on average, takes less time than traditional braces and also may require less check-in appointments.
How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

The cost of Invisalign varies depending on the complexity of your case, the length of treatment, and your specific smile goals. During your consultation, Dr. Carlotto will evaluate your teeth and bite to provide a personalized cost estimate so that you’re fully informed before committing to treatment. At this time, we can also review possible insurance benefits and financing options to help make things simpler.
Invisalign Teen is Also Available!

Invisalign Teen offers the same nearly invisible, removable treatment designed specifically with teenagers in mind. It includes built-in features like compliance indicators that fade over time to help track wear, along with replacement aligners in case one is lost. It’s an excellent option for teens who want to avoid the look and feel of metal braces. However, it does require discipline to wear the aligners consistently in order to keep things on track.
